"How was IGF 2023?"
I attended the Global Youth Summit as one of coordinators of local youth initiatives at IGF 2023. I also contributed as one of the organizers as well as one of the rapporteurs. That summit highlighted the collaboration works among the young people at global level while all are coming from local and regional levels. That summit brought all workshops input from each of the regions such as Asia Pacific, Latin America, Europe and so on. The finalized output would be an inclusive way of highlighting the importance of youth and their involvement in Internet Governance issues. Specifically, it is also open for public consultation regarding the messages from Youth which are from collective outputs from Global Youth Summit. More than that, youth speakers anticipated the Dynamic Coalition Main Sessions and it was a great opportunity for me to represent the steering committee member of Youth Coalition on Internet Governance for Dynamic Main Session named “The Internet We Want - Human Rights in the digital space to accelerate the SDGs”. Wearing different hats allowed me to experience understanding different perspectives on different issues at IGF 2023.
As a part of the DotAsia team, I was also excited about the launch of the EcoInternet Index 2023 Report at IGF 2023. The EcoInternet Index 2023 Report is a significant initiative that highlights the connection between the internet and the environment. It's crucial to raise awareness about this linkage because the internet has become an integral part of our lives, and its environmental impact is substantial.
In summary, my time at IGF 2023 was a unique opportunity to engage with global youth, contribute to crucial discussions on Internet Governance, and advocate for the environment's well-being in the digital age. It was a multifaceted experience that broadened my horizons and allowed me to make meaningful contributions to the ever-evolving digital landscape.
